Contract Electronics Manufacture (CEM)

Contract Electronics Manufacture is the manufacture of electronics equipment, for example Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), from prototype to production quantities on a contract basis. Typically a company will contract out electronics manufacture such as assembly or design where they don't have their own facilities or if it can be performed more efficiently by an external source.
